I grew up on the southern central coast of Alaska. Born and raised in a tiny little isolated town known for its snowfall and ecological disaster.
As a child and teenager, I could hardly wait to get out. Now at twenty-two years old and living in Seattle, I find myself missing the familiar faces and stories. I miss the regularity and kindness of neighbors, friends, employers, etc.
On the other hand, I think the majority of them are idiots.
